Why guesthouses and households keep coming back to the warehouse

There is no shortage of places to buy bedding in South Africa. What changes the decision is what happens after the first wash, when a colour sells out, or when a lodge needs twelve fitted sheets that actually stay on the mattress. These are the things we get right, and the reasons people order a second time.

We cut and stitch in Gauteng

Fabric arrives from mills in Pakistan and Portugal, but the cutting table and the sewing floor sit in Gauteng. That means a sold-out stone duvet cover is a restock we can schedule, not a container we wait months for. Percale is percale. We list the weave and the count we actually wove, not a number inflated by counting plies twice. Three-quarter beds are still common in older Johannesburg flats, and extra-length or pillow-top mattresses are everywhere. Questions we get asked before an order

Sizing, fabric, delivery and how the linen holds up in a guesthouse laundry. If something is not covered here, the answers below are the ones we give most often on the warehouse floor.

How do I know which fitted sheet depth I need?: Measure the mattress wall, not the whole mattress. Standard beds sit around 25cm, pillow-top and extra-length mattresses often run to 35 or 40cm. Our deep-pocket sheet is cut with a 40cm wall and elastic all the way around, so it stays tucked on the thicker beds. If you are unsure, the three-quarter size covers most older Johannesburg flats.
Are the thread counts accurate?: Yes. We list the count as woven, not as a marketing number. Cotton percale from our Pakistan and Portugal mills is stated per fabric, and the care card explains the first wash so the weave settles evenly instead of shrinking unevenly after a hot cycle.
Can I order linen for a whole guesthouse in one go?: You can build a cart across bedrooms and add a linen bundle for a spare room. Guesthouses and small lodges usually order matched sets in white, stone or charcoal so a linen cupboard stays consistent when items rotate through the laundry. Restocks land quickly because cutting and stitching happens in Gauteng.
Where do you deliver, and how long does it take?: We deliver to Cape Town, Durban, Pretoria and out to farms outside town. Delivery timing depends on the route and whether a colour is in stock at the time of order. If a shade has sold out, it is usually back on the shelf within a short restock window rather than weeks.
How should I wash the towels and bedding the first time?: Cold wash, line dry, and expect a little lint from the hotel-weight towels on the first cycle. After that the loop structure settles and the hand stays soft through repeated hot washes in a guesthouse laundry. The care card in each order walks through this step by step.
What if a colour I want is out of stock?: Colours are dyed in small batches, so a sold-out shade comes back faster than a full seasonal range would. You can check the help page for restock notes, or reach us through contact if you need a specific colour for a booking date.
